performance improvement- gas mileage is there with performanmce
First- please advise if this is in tyhe wrong place I know there is a forum on these vehicles- but I thought this might be best in General 1st- I’m a past mechanic- have always believed “it’s how you drive to get mileage” and I’ve always been open getting better performance/mileage out of any vehicle- if you are willing to learn my case- I have 2 4WD Escapes- both allmost exactly the same 2008 and 2009 V6′s my 2009 gets 2.8 mpg better than my 2008 you have to realize- I drive like an old man- know where any given vehicle, speed, will perform best- I also believe in the vacuum guage- or such- to tell where a vehicle is crusing So- after 2 months of reviewing- have ordered a performance chip supposedly it can be pulled out and installed with no problems so- I’m going to install it first in the 2008 Escape first- I have my baseline mileage of both vehicles- I have documentation of the average, town, country, hyway- and a 343 mile drive where bopth vehicles were driven the same I choose this performance chip- based on what I believe is a fair and ballanced review- I ordered it today- will be willing to write here on how easy and formative the instructions are- the product in itself- 1- what I experienced 2-what my goals were 3-when and where did I notice anything 4-all arround driving for the 1st 200 miles 5- what did I notice different 6- on the hyway at what I believe is ultimate cruising speed- what did I notice 7- based on my baseline mpg test before- what is it now- and since the 2009 is getting better gas mileage- what will this test tell on both vehicles

T56 manual transmission in a box Caprice?
Anybody seen this? Online I’ve only seen people asking the same question or people with the 91-96 models converted over. Tired of my 700r4 doing the shifting rather than me.

The Real Difference Between Horsepower and Torque (Bit of a read, but worth it)
So I’ve searched this forum, and other forums for info on the topic, but… I’m quite tired of people getting torque and horsepower wrong. I’m tired of hearing people say things like “horsepower is what accelerates you, torque is not”, or things like “horsepower and torque are equally important”, or an assortment of different things, here on this forum, and out there on other forums or even real life.
